OpenG2P at MOSIP Connect 2024

Exploring Digital Possibilities

OpenG2P’s participation in MOSIP Connect 2024 has been one of sharing thoughts, learning, and gaining perspectives. This three-day event in Addis Ababa, organised by MOSIP, incubated at IIIT-B like we are, helped us connect with industry leaders, converse with potential partners, and witness how various stakeholders are unlocking the potential of Digital Identity.

This was a great opportunity for us to showcase our work and also understand the current landscape and challenges faced by countries and partners. Three days of interactions, conversations, and brainstorming have left us inspired and motivated to work on exploring digital possibilities with our offerings.

Our booth in the Solutions Discovery area allowed us to meet government and technical partners and demonstrate two of our latest OpenG2P modules:

Social Payments Account Registry (SPAR), an inclusion tool that gives end users the ability to choose how they receive benefits, and 4Sure, a user-friendly tool that helps read IDs from Inji.

We also conducted two workshops – one for technical partners, where we launched the OpenG2P Partner Programme to invite partners into our ecosystem, and one with government representatives, where we understood the challenges faced by departments when implementing digital social benefits delivery.

We were pleased with the overwhelming response and interaction during the sessions which gave us the chance to not just respond to queries about OpenG2P, but also use that as a cue for our tech team to work on digital solutions.

Puneet Joshi, Chief Technology Officer – OpenG2P, conducted a presentation on ‘Decoding OpenG2P.’

As a panellist on ‘Good Technology Adoption Part 1: Fostering Reuse and Interoperability for Sustainable Solutions,’ moderated by Anita Mittal, DCI, he spoke about interoperability being a fundamental design principle in OpenG2P’s thought process.

We also understood the use of ID and digital G2P systems through on-ground examples shared by Sam Muradzikwa, UNICEF Ethiopia and Ibrahim Mamma, UNCDF, who were panellists on ‘G2P Transfers: Comprehensive Insights from On-Ground Experiences’ moderated by OpenG2P’s Policy and Research Manager, Niharika Betkerur.

Our experience at MOSIP Connect 2024 has given us insights and inspiration to further our efforts towards leveraging the power of digital for social benefits delivery.
